Creating a Workflow #
Once you understand the available workflow abilities, you can create a reusable workflow and assign it to specific WordPress roles. The Workflow Builder lets you select abilities, arrange them in a workflow, preview the generated prompt, and save the workflow.
Follow the steps below to create a workflow.
Step 1: Open the Workflow Builder #
- In your WordPress admin dashboard, open AtlasMCP.
- Navigate to Workflows.
- Open the Workflow Builder.
- You will see the Workflow Canvas, where you can add and arrange abilities.
Step 2: Add Abilities to the Workflow #
The Workflow Canvas allows you to build your workflow by adding the abilities you want the AI to use.
- In the Workflow Builder, search preferred abilities.
- Click Add button or drag & drop the bility inside the Workflow Canvas.
- Arrange the abilities according to the workflow you want to create.
For example, you could combine Search Posts, Get Post, Analyze Post Content, and Update Post to create a workflow for analyzing and updating existing content.
Step 3: Review the Workflow #
After adding the required abilities:
- Review the abilities added to the Workflow Canvas.
- Make sure all required abilities are included.
- Remove any unnecessary abilities if needed.
- Use Clear if you want to remove all abilities and start again.
Step 4: Add a Workflow Name #
Give your workflow a clear and descriptive name.
- Find the Workflow Name field.
- Enter a name that describes what the workflow does.
For example:
SEO Content Optimization
A descriptive name makes it easier for administrators and users to identify the workflow later.
Step 5: Assign the Workflow to User Roles #
You can control which WordPress roles can use the workflow.
- Find the Assign to option.
- Select the WordPress role or roles that should have access to the workflow.
- You can assign the workflow to All Roles or limit it to specific roles.
- Make sure the selected roles have the required permissions to use the abilities included in the workflow.
For example, you could assign a content-related workflow to Editor and Author roles while keeping it unavailable to other roles.
Step 6: Preview the Prompt #
AtlasMCP automatically builds a prompt based on the abilities included in the workflow.
- Review the Prompt Preview section.
- Check the generated prompt to make sure it represents the workflow you created.
- If the prompt does not match the intended workflow, return to the Workflow Canvas and add, remove, or rearrange abilities.
Step 7: Save the Workflow #
Once everything is configured:
- Enter the workflow name.
- Confirm the assigned roles.
- Review the abilities in the Workflow Canvas.
- Check the Prompt Preview.
- Click Save Workflow.
Your workflow is now saved and available to the WordPress roles you assigned.
Managing Workflow Access #
Workflow access is controlled separately from the individual abilities used inside the workflow.
A user must have access to the workflow and the required permissions for the abilities used by that workflow. This allows administrators to create different workflows for different WordPress roles and use AtlasMCP as a controlled way to provide AI-powered functionality.
